Archimage Architects, Ltd. was founded by Sheryl O'Reilly
Stevens and Kirk Stevens in 1991. Sheryl has an
undergraduate and a Master's degree in Architecture from the
engineering school at the Ohio State University. Kirk has
undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Architecture from
Syracuse University and the Ohio State University and a Master's
degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois at
Chicago. After completing their master's degrees, both
Sheryl and Kirk apprenticed for a few of the country's most
renowned architecture firms. As architects with those
firms, they worked on many award winning projects that generated
national and international acclaim. The building types
they gained experience on included libraries, museums, shopping
centers, U.S. Park Service buildings, restaurants, theaters,
office buildings and residences. A few of the projects
include, The New National Theater of Japan, The Harold
Washington Library (the world's largest municipal library) and
the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp (a camp for children with life
threatening diseases) sponsored by Paul Newman. This
experience proved invaluable when the two set out to form their
own firm. Since forming Archimage Architects, Ltd., the
firm has completed numerous residential, commercial and
institutional projects. Both Sheryl and Kirk have served
on the Committee on the Environment with the American Institute
of Architects and are committed to designing buildings that are
environmentally responsible.
